The seven-day “Witness Shaanxi to Catch up and Surpass – 2017  China Radio International (CRI) Chinese and Foreign Journalists Seeing Shaanxi Interviews” event wrapped up on April 29th, 2017. Journalists from 20 different language departments of CRI and other Chinese state and local Shaanxi media organizations visited Xi’an, Baoji and Xianyang in Shaanxi Province, which helped them to show a new image of the province to the world.

In Xi’an, the team of journalists visited various local districts dedicated to free trade, innovation, financial services, ecological development and other modern industries, witnessing firsthand the latest social and economic progress of the ancient Chinese capital and the vital role it is playing in China’s “Belt and Road” initiative.

Additionally, CRI’s journalists also visited a number of cultural heritage sites, including the Terracotta Warriors, the Huaqing Palace and the ancient Xi’an city wall.
